PARKING IN THE VAL D’ANNIVIERS
Parking is available in the villages of Chandolin, St-Luc, Zinal, and Grimentz. However, these are small mountain resorts with limited capacity. To help reduce traffic and avoid parking difficulties, we strongly encourage carpooling or using public transport.

In Sierre
We strongly recommend travelling to Sierre by public transport.
TRAIN SERVICE TO SIERRE STATION
- 2 intercity trains per hour and per direction (IR90, to/from Brig and Geneva Airport)
- 1 to 2 regional trains per hour and per direction (Regio/RegioExpress, to/from Brig and Monthey/St-Gingolph)
- Up to 4 trains per hour between Geneva and Sierre during the day (combining IR90 and REGIO services)
- 1 special night train from Geneva to Sierre – departs at 01:58 and arrives at 04:07, with stops at several stations along the way. More information about the Geneva–Sierre night train here
PARKING IN SIERRE :
- Gravel pit Zwissig SA (500m. from the start)
- Falcon Islands (750m. from the start)
- Parking de la gare (downtown)
- Parking de l'Europe (downtown)
- Parking de Beaulieu (downtown)
- Parking le Forum (downtown)
In Zinal
We strongly recommend travelling to Zinal by public transport.
- Several free spectator parking lots are provided downstream from Zinal, at the level of Mottec; from these parking lots, Zinal and the finish area can easily be reached either on foot or by shuttle bus (also free; non-stop from 05:00 to 23:30).
- Few places are available for spectators before the village of Zinal.
- As soon as these few places are occupied, a filter will be set up for access to the village; only those entitled (residents, accredited persons, members of the organization) as well as public transport (and the Mottec - Zinal shuttle bus) will be able to access the center of Zinal by road.
THE ALTERNATIVE: PARK IN GRIMENTZ AND TAKE THE CABLE CAR TO ZINAL
To avoid traffic jams and full car parks in Zinal, we strongly recommend parking in Grimentz and using the Grimentz–Zinal cable car, which runs continuously on race day.

Valid for all cabins, including the Alpine Top panoramic cabin.
Take note of Road Closures on the Anniviers road, on Saturday August 9th, 2024:
The Anniviers Road from Sierre to Zinal will be fully closed
- Twice for 45 minutes to let Tourist use the road from 4:40 am to 5:25 am then again from 5:40 am to 6:25 am.
- Once for 35 minutes to let Coureur use the road from: 10:55 to 11:30 a.m.
Access Ban applies to all traffic during those times including motorbikes, scooters and bicycles.
The road from Vercorin to Vissoie will be open at all times.
Partial closure of the Zinal-Sierre road for the descent to the plain
The descent to Sierre will be partially rerouted to facilitate the ascent to Zinal for accompanying persons and spectators:
- Vissoie-Sierre: road closed from 10.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. on descent, detour via Vercorin
- Zinal-Vissoie: road closed from 11:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on descent, detour via Grimentz
- Ayer-Chandolin: Road closed from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Please join Chandolin via Vissoie and avoid the Ayer-St-Luc road, as a large number of vehicles will be travelling from St-Luc to Ayer to join Zinal from Chandolin.
Please follow the instructions of the local authorities and allow extra time to get to your destination.
