Location

On an official section of the Sierre-Zinal course. The course starts in Chandolin (at the start of the Tsapé chairlift), passes through Tignousa and ends at the Hotel Weisshorn.

 

Length

8.8 km including a 517m vertical drop.

 

Participants

Every athlete over the age of 18.

From 18 January 2024 at www.sierre-zinal.com

 

Availability

Places are limited to 200 participants in all categories combined.

 

Categories

Choose your discipline: non-electric mountain biking, cross-country skiing (skating), ski touring or running.

 

Compulsory equipment

Each participant must be equipped with a headlamp to ensure a safe return. Checks will be carried out. 

 

Return to Tignousa after the race and ride down

After crossing the finish line, participants can return to the Tignousa Mountain Restaurant in any way they wish (on foot, on skis or by bike).

For safety reasons, however, no one is allowed to descend from Tignousa to St-Luc except by the free funicular railway. Skiing and cycling prohibited

A free shuttle bus will be set up from St-Luc to the Chandolin car-park according to the following schedule:

Meal

Post-race meal (included in the registration fee) at the Tignousa High Mountain Restaurant followed by the awards ceremony.

Cut-off time

Cut-off time in Tignousa, 1 hour after the start of the races.

Cut-off time at the Chalet Blanc du Toûno (between the Tignousa Mountain Restaurant and the Weisshorn Hotel) no later than 6:10pm.

Athletes who do not adhere to these cut-off times will be disqualified.

 

Fee

50.-CHF (incl. meal in the Tignousa High Mountain Restaurant, funicular and shuttle transport costs).

 

Arrival

Between 5:15 pm and 6:40 pm at Hotel Weisshorn.

 

Bibs

Race numbers can be picked up at the start line at 3:30pm. Toilets are available.

 

Bags

The bags are transported to the Tignousa Restaurant.

 

Schedule

3:30 pm: Bib retrieval at the Tsape in Chandolin

4:30 pm: Starting times for each of the 4 categories, in the following order: 

1 Mountain Bikers, 2 Skaters, 3 Runners and 4 Ski Tourers

5:15 pm: First racers arrive at Hotel Weisshorn

6:40 pm: End of the race at Hotel Weisshorn 

8:00 pm: Awards ceremony at the Tignousa High Mountain Restaurant

11:00 pm:  Tignousa High Mountain Restaurant closes

 

Awards Ceremony

8:00 pm: Held at the Tignousa High Mountain Restaurant.
