RACE
- A unique course in the middle of a pristine environment sublimated by the Five Four Thousand Meter Peaks

- 3 amateur athletes from Anniviers who ran all 49 editions will take part in the 50th edition

TRANSPORT
- Shuttles available to bring participants and visitors back to Sierre
- 95% of participants stay in Sierre or in the Anniviers valley
AID STATIONS AND FOOD
- Paper tumblers (90 000)
- 100% Swiss products consumed
- 90% expenditures in Valais
- Over 600 loyal volunteers from year to year such as Michel Antille whose dedication dates back to 1975
ENERGY
- Low energy use: the event takes place outdoors during the day
- The human battery is pumped after a day spent in an open air, mountainous and sunny environment!
GOODIES
- Paper bags for participants
- Participants gifts reflect the organizers’ sustainability concerns, for instance socks and head bands are intended for multiple uses
SORTING
- Selective recycling and rubbish bins all along the course
- Waste avoided through the monitoring of a dedicated person serving as the “environment watchguard” (all excess food will be distributed to an association in Sierre and the Vissoie school canteen)
- The quantity of waste will be limited thanks to a dedicated person serving as the “environment watchguard” overseeing a database that is updated every year
- Centralised and organised waste disposal area
Pilot Projects
Did you know that transportation is responsible for roughly 75% of CO2 emissions produced during similar events (spectators, organization, participants and so on…)?
To reduce our carbon footprint while upholding the myth and quality standards of the race, we are going to test two types of transport:
- A special train from St-Gingolph to Sierre for the Tourist start
- A fan bus operating between Sierre, Chandolin and Zinal
