GOLDEN TRAIL WORLD SERIES SEGMENTS

Three official Golden Trail World Series segments are featured along the Sierre-Zinal course: Best Climber, Best Sprinter, and Best Downhiller. These segments allow athletes to earn bonus points towards the overall Golden Trail World Series standings.

The course video below shows the location of all three segments.

BEST CLIMBER
The Best Climber rewards the fastest athlete on a designated uphill segment defined by the Golden Trail World Series.

BEST SPRINTER
The Best Sprinter rewards the fastest athlete on a short runnable section designed to highlight speed and changes of pace.

BEST DOWNHILLER
The Best Downhiller rewards the fastest athlete on the downhill segment selected by the Golden Trail World Series.

BONUS POINTS
The top five athletes on each segment earn bonus points towards the overall Golden Trail World Series standings.

• 1st : 10 points
• 2nd : 8 points
• 3rd : 6 points
• 4th : 4 points
• 5th : 2 points

Bonus points are only awarded if the athlete finishes the race.
